There is a strong current coming up

Aluminium, anodized aluminium and metal parts – 2019-2022 – 700x86x86cm

This large commissioned work is the outcome of questions that have occurred during the renovation of the school building of the Viaa in Zwolle. How can form and content relate to each other in this new building? Can identity be made visible in form and color? I have designed a sculpture that establishes a link between the new building materials and the various users of it. The sculpture consists of a composition of lines, arrows and representations of human activities that are specific for this building. These shapes arise from a spatial construction. The three floors of the building allow you each time you pass by, a different view.
